Tree fern fiber is an excellent substrate for a variety of plants such as orchids and aroids. It’s ideal to use for plants that don’t enjoy being consistently soggy yet require some moisture retention in the media. Plants that have a habit of creeping or stretching out and may outgrow baskets quickly also do well on these plaques due to their size. Treefern boards are spongey and porous but last for many years. If you are looking for something new to try aside from cork or cedar mounts, these are definitely a great option!
