Product Details

Seidenfadenia mitrata is a collector's species with a look all its own: long, pendulous, succulent-like terete leaves that form a dramatic "beard" of foliage and roots. In spring it bursts into dense, upright spikes of white flowers tipped with vivid magenta-purple lips and a mild, sweet fragrance.

Native to the seasonally dry deciduous forests of Myanmar and Thailand, it's built for heat, bright light and a real dry-down between waterings. Mount it on wood, cork, driftwood or even a tree, give bright filtered light at 60–95°F, and water daily in summer, easing off in the cool season.

Blooming size — photos are representative of the plant size and maturity available. Choose small (1–2 growths), medium or large bare-root plants, ready for the mount of your choice; several are in spike.
