Plant Care Tips

SUNLIGHT Moderate, filtered light (1,500–2,500 fc). Slightly brighter than Paphiopedilum but still no direct midday sun.

TEMPERATURE Intermediate: 55–80°F (13–27°C). Tolerates a range but prefers consistent conditions without extreme heat.

WATER. Keep consistently moist—these are among the few orchids that appreciate "wet feet." Use a shallow water tray to catch runoff and prevent drying.

NUTRITION. Fertilize 1/4 strength weekly, Flush regularly to prevent salt buildup. Use our 15-5-15 Cal-Mag fertilizer for best results.

Shipping Info

Free shipping on orders of $99+ within the US, including pre-orders. Orders under $99 are calculated at checkout based on size, quantity and destination.

When will it ship?
Live plants ship on Mondays and Tuesdays only, so they never sit in a carrier facility over the weekend. Supplies and pottery ship within 5–7 days; if they’re in the same order as a plant, everything ships together on Monday or Tuesday.

Cold-weather shipping
We only ship live plants when temperatures are 40°F or above. Below 50°F we include a free 72-hour heat pack and ship to arrive within 1–3 days; addresses that need more than 3 days in transit require an expedited upgrade. In the coldest months plant shipments may pause until it warms up.

Product Details

Phragmipedium QF Maha (Phrag. Rocquier × Phrag. Twilight), registered by Quintal Farms in 2025, has already shown its potential: a wide spread with a golden dorsal and glowing red petals. As often happens with first blooms, these flowers opened without a lip — future flowering cycles will be the full show, and they'll only get better with time.

With besseae, longifolium and dalessandroi in its background, give bright light, 58–85°F, constantly moist mix and regular calcium. We recommend our crushed oyster shells and Cal-Mag fertilizer.

Blooming size — photos are representative of the plant size and maturity available. Hybridized by our licensed partner nursery in Hawaii and finished in our Florida greenhouse, so it arrives acclimated to warm climates.
