Product Details
Vanda falcata 'Koto' (formerly Neofinetia falcata) is a treasured cultivar of Japan's samurai orchid, prized for fragrant deep pink-magenta and white flowers, a moderate-length spur, and distinctive red-brown root tips. Its starry blooms release their sweet scent most strongly in the evening.
This species grows wild in Japan, Korea and China, so it tolerates cooler winters (down to the 40s–50s°F) better than tropical Vandas while still enjoying summer heat. Grow it in a small pot of sphagnum or a mount, give bright, filtered light, and water when the roots turn silver.
