'The Twig Orchid'
These are knockout plants! Super east to care for, and put on frequent displays with dozens of large lobed lavender blooms. This orchid is like a secret agent spy. Seemingly unnoticeable due to its rather plain foliage, and twig like spike that some even think may be dead... until boom! One morning you pay it a visit and it has this stunning display of purple! These sell out at every show, and most of our customers have never even seen it until they come to us. This is the first time we will be offering these on our web site. We LOVE these and they make for excellent mounts as well.
CARE: Mounted- Bareroot. They are in fine orchiata bark, charcoal and sponge rock. We water them every other and they are kept in near full shade. In their native habitat, they are often found mounted on branches of trees hanging over water sources. While they don't like to be kept wet they can certainly appreciate the humidity. If you choose to mount your orchid you will need to water daily and keep out of all direct light as they will dehydrate and burn quickly. These do not need fertilizer to perform well, however ours get fertilized with the rest of our potted orchids and do just fine.
