Product Details

Cattleya QF Lopaka is a fragrant seedling cross built for growers who want big Cattleya presence on a compact plant.

Its seed parent, Cattleya aclandiae, is the dwarf, leopard-spotted Bahia species prized for oversized waxy blooms on a 3–5 inch plant. The pollen parent, C. QF Hazel Kealoha (Laelia pumila var. alba × Cattleya coccinea), brings the compact habit and warm red-orange tones of two more miniature Brazilian species into the mix.

Because this is a seedling cross rather than a single clone, blooming-size plants show real variation — expect shades of pink, red and purple, with some specimens carrying more of aclandiae's spotting and others favoring the coccinea/pumila color.

Grow in bright light with a distinct dry rest between waterings; all three parent species come from seasonally dry Brazilian forest and resent constant moisture.

A fragrant, compact, endlessly variable little Cattleya — no two blooms are quite the same.
