The genus Doritis, now condensed to Phalaenoipsis consists of several species that produces often compact foliage and small 1" flowers. We carry two varieties, pulcherrima 'red' and pulcherrima champorensis. Both plants produce tall upright stems with several flowers measuring 1" or less across. Don't let the Phalaenopsis nomenclature fool you. We treat these unlike any other Phalaenopsis species or hybrid. We find these plants do very well mounted or basket bare root. We water daily, ensuring plenty of airflow for them too dry off and not collect water in the crowns. Root systems are robust and expand quickly. They excellent candidates to mount to various wood or clay products. They are currently under our 40% shade screen towards a corner of our shade house that is also partially protected from midday sun due to a large tree. They are intermediate-warm growers, and all plants are blooming size with multiple mature growths. Happily waiting to earn a spot in your collection.
