Product Details
Coelogyne pandurata — widely known as the Black Orchid — is native to Borneo, Sumatra and the Malay Peninsula, where it grows on large trees near water. Each arching spray carries apple-green flowers about 4 inches across, marked with a dark, nearly black-veined lip. The fragrance is honeyed and strongest in the morning.
This is a species that needs room. The rhizome runs several inches between pseudobulbs, so it resents a tight pot — a wide, shallow basket lets it travel and build toward specimen size. Grow it warm and evenly moist through active growth, easing back once the new bulb matures.
Plants offered are blooming size and in low spike, with 4+ growths, established in a bark mixture in hanging baskets.
