Finally we have acquired the Black Orchid to share with our customers! Potted in 2.5" nursery pots and should bloom in the next 1-2 years. Fredclarkeara is a complex intergeneric cross between clowesia, catasetum and mormodes. Most notably known for the Black Orchid. After Dark is a truly dark, near black hybrid that is also extremely fragrant. Our plants are dormant in the winter months but some are showing new growth swelling at the base. When dormant, plants in genus Catasetinae are leafless and roots have mostly died back. We reduce or completely stop watering in the winter. Read more about their care here. Orchids in this genera look quite small when leafless but produce an abundant canopy in the warmer months.
