Maintenance High humidity (70–90%). Prefers shallow pots or mounts with sphagnum. Tree Fern Fiber is also an excellent option.

Shipping Info

Free shipping on orders of $99+ within the US, including pre-orders. Orders under $99 are calculated at checkout based on size, quantity and destination.

When will it ship?
Live plants ship on Mondays and Tuesdays only, so they never sit in a carrier facility over the weekend. Supplies and pottery ship within 5–7 days; if they’re in the same order as a plant, everything ships together on Monday or Tuesday.

Cold-weather shipping
We only ship live plants when temperatures are 40°F or above. Below 50°F we include a free 72-hour heat pack and ship to arrive within 1–3 days; addresses that need more than 3 days in transit require an expedited upgrade. In the coldest months plant shipments may pause until it warms up.

Product Details

Bulbophyllum Doris Dukes (Bulbophyllum fascinator × Bulbophyllum rothschildianum) was registered in 1996 by B. Thoms, uniting two of the most theatrical Cirrhopetalum-type species. Expect pink-to-red flowers with long, fused lateral sepals that trail like streamers, while fringed, hair-tipped appendages on the upper petals quiver in the slightest breeze.

B. fascinator comes from the warm forests of Indochina and B. rothschildianum from northeast India, so this compact hybrid grows intermediate to warm (60–90°F). Keep it in bright shade with high humidity and evenly moist roots; a shallow pot suits its creeping rhizome.

Blooming size and established in a 4" pot — photos are representative of the plant size and maturity available. A conversation piece for any Bulbophyllum collection.
